A birthday or special occasion is the perfect excuse to gather the troops and head out into the calm Gulf waters on a private yacht. But where do you start when hiring a yacht in Dubai?
Booking your yacht
At GoToDXB we make the whole process as smooth and stress-free as possible. Just drop us a WhatsApp or fill out our enquiry form and someone (usually Susi or Alastair) will get back to you very quickly. We’ll need to know a few details, like your date, budget and how many people are coming on the cruise. It’s also worth thinking about the time of day you’d like to book for – mornings are cool and calm on the water, afternoons will get you a glorious sunset or evenings can be ideal for livelier party cruises, so it all depends on what you want.
Once we’ve established your details, we’ll send you several options to choose from via WhatsApp. You’ll receive a selection of images, along with a video so you can get the feel of the yacht.
Securing your Dubai yacht
We recommend deciding on your yacht as quickly as possible to ensure availability. Once you’ve made your choice, we’ll send you a payment link so you can pay a deposit to secure your yacht.
Receiving your info
As your trip draws near, we’ll send you a WhatsApp with everything you need to know about your experience. It includes a meeting point pin so you can make sure you arrive in the right location (which can be tricky in a busy harbour) plus your contact for the day and a few important reminders. This message can be easily forwarded on to all members of your party so everyone has the details.
What to bring
You can bring your own food and alcohol on board and most yachts have fridges and cool boxes for storage. If you’re cruising during the day, don’t forget your swimwear! There will be swimming opportunities during your charter. Most of our yachts provide towels but we recommend double-checking your WhatsApp message to make sure they’re included.
Any footwear is fine, but bear in mind you’ll have to remove any shoes as you step on board so it can be easier to wear sandals or flip flops.
Don’t forget some cash if you would like to tip the crew at the end of the charter. This isn’t expected but always appreciated if you feel the service has been fantastic.
Other than that pair of sunnies is essential and some sunscreen of course!
Setting sail
On the day we recommend allowing plenty of time to get to the harbour and make sure the rest of your party is on time too – you’ll have to wait for everyone to arrive before you set sail, and any latecomers (there’s one in every group!) will mean you get less time at sea.
Follow the instructions you received in your WhatsApp and you’ll meet either Susi, Alastair or your captain at the harbour. We’ll have a wheely trolley with us which you can load with your bags, drinks and food. We’ll escort you to your yacht and get you settled before you set sail.
Your Dubai yacht trip
Once you set off our crew will ensure you’re well looked after. These guys are experienced and so knowledgeable; from keeping your glasses topped up to recommending the best swimming spots, they will be on hand to make sure you have the best trip possible. Also, we can confirm they take great photographs to capture those all-important memories.
Connect your phone to the speakers and enjoy the sea breeze as you cruise around the Palm past Dubai’s iconic landmarks.
Carrying on the party
The party doesn’t have to stop at the end of your cruise. If you want to carry on the party, let us know in advance and we can arrange for you to be dropped directly at the city’s hottest beach clubs or restaurants. Reach out to Susi and Alastair and they will talk you through the options, and let you know about any special deals.
Finally, don’t forget to tag us in any pics or videos, we love to see your experiences!
